Impacting Positive Change On Our Diverse Community

Dr. David M. White’s dedication to world-class dentistry and quality patient care is rivaled only by his dedication to the community he calls home. As a northern Nevada resident for the better part of 20 years, Dr. White has developed an immense connection to the people and communities of this unique, wonderfully diverse region. A particular advocate for education, Dr. White regularly attends public school board meetings in Washoe and Elko counties, and frequently works with the community to provide free dental services for individuals in need. Dr. White also works closely with the Education Alliance of Washoe County, which provides a network of support and community service for children of all ages to learn, develop and grow within the community. Since 2004, Dr. White has also provided community outreach for thousands of pre-medical and pre-dental students via his non-profit pre-dental student program, which has helped over 700 students nationwide earn admission into dental school. Dr. White believes in support via encouragement and self-development, and often quotes the great German novelist Johann Wolfgang von Goethe: “If you treat an individual as he is, he will remain how he is. But if you treat him as if he were what he ought to be and could be, he will become what he ought to be and could be.”

A Commitment to Serving Others

In order to positively impact our community through outreach services, we believe it is important to work not for ourselves, but for the common good of those around us. This is something Dr. White puts into practice on a daily basis, and it’s something that he holds close to his heart.

As an active member of Washoe County’s Pre-Dental Society, Dr. White coordinates various after-school programs at Title 1 elementary schools, where he teaches oral hygiene to young children. Dr. White also works with the Washoe County School District on a Community Compact, helping to identify resources from businesses, non-profits and other organizations to fill financial gaps for people and communities in need.

Dr. White also serves as Chairman of the Nevada Commission on Education Technology, and works closely with Katherine Dunn Elementary School’s Partners in Education program to promote early education and after-school support. Dr. White also holds a position as adjunct professor at UN, Las Vegas and UN, Reno, where he is involved in both student-run clinics and admissions processes.
